The Players
What do the players think of BASA's management of South Australian basketball?
Daniel Zacharjack: u/20 div 1 player West Adelaide, Mens Div 1 player, former state player.
'the timetable dilemma is annoying every year. You know, we never get a list of our games and times for the year until its too late. Another thing was this year, when the state champion teams were presented their trophys, we had to wait over 2 hours because of technical delays with microphones.'
Dale Fletcher: umpire, west adelaide ABA MC/court announcer, former ABA player.
'basketball is in a terrible position. The sixers have a very low supporter base this year. Also, BASA has taken a long time to re-sign the 6ers players from last season. They should have been concreted straight away.'
Peter Steel: mens div 1 player, Woodville Warriors, umpire.
'Our mens division 2 team, the second highest level of basketball in the state has not received a season fixture. It reflects badly on BASA and how they value the competition. Its just crappy, thats all.'
Bob Hunnerup BASA local area manager, head coach of West Adelaide.
'BASA is in a bad financial position because the government has not intelligently managing the situation. I think its difficult for BASA to operate effectively when it is under heavy financial pressure.'
